The constant, nagging feeling that you're not doing enough as a Mom. The feeling of an invisible standard you're meant to meet and anytime you fall short, you feel guilty.
The appearance of being well-accomplished and put together, while struggling with clinically significant levels of anxiety internally.
People pleasing is a pattern of behavior where someone prioritizes others' needs over their own in order to avoid rejection, conflict, and gain approval and maintain relationships.
We offer individual therapy for adults only that struggle with high anxiety and people pleasing tendencies, and mothers in all seasons of life. On a case by case basis, Rachel works with couples in couples therapy who need a refresher.
We offer online (virtual) therapy only using video and audio through a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform.
We're in-network with Sentara Health Plans (formerly Optima Health) and Anthem BCBS. I am out of network with all other plans and Medicaid and Medicare.
No. There is no billable code for couples therapy. Insurance would require us to bill the service as family therapy and base our therapy on one member's diagnosis which is not aligned with Rachel's couples therapy training.
Appointments late cancelled (within 24 hours) or missed will be billed $110. We understand life happens, however, adherence to this policy ensures a respectful working relationship.
We offer a free 15 minute video consultation to help you find a great fit for therapy - whether that might be us or another highly recommended therapist. Click this link to schedule your free 15 minute video consultation. Our office can also be reached via email, admin@chesapeakebaycounselingpllc.com and via phone, (757) 255-8527. Since we spend most of the day in appointments, email is the best way to reach us. Office hours are: Monday through Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm and Friday 9:00am-2:00pm.
This varies and is dependent on whether you feel as if you have accomplished your therapy goals. Therapy typically starts off on a weekly basis and can decrease to biweekly, monthly, or as needed.
We are not specialized in crisis services. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911, the National Crisis Hotline at 988, or go to your nearest emergency room.
